Spouses of positive cervical cancer patients should be screened

Prof. Zeyi Cao, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment Project in China especially emphasized that spouses with positive cervical cancer screening must be screened when he shared in the agenda of "Current Problems Needing Attention in the present Gynecologic Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment". Some HPV+ women who are observed to be repeatedly positive for the same type of HPV are likely to be the result of their spouse's HPV infection; men infected with HPV, especially those who are long foreskin and phimosis, have a large amount of HPV in the foreskin scale, which cannot be easily removed if they are not well cleaned. Therefore, circumcision for men can prevent cervical cancer.
